John transferred from the Craigavon Development Commission to the Housing Executive in 1972 and remained in South Region until 2002 when he moved to HQ as Assistant Director of Design Services. He retired in 2009.

Danny started in the newly established NIHE as a Trainee Housing Manager on 1/9/1971 in the Dunmurry Area Office and moved to Belfast District 1 in 1972. He was promoted to Accounts Officer in Newtownabbey District 1 Office in 1973 and moved as Asst District Manager to the Craigavon District Office in 1975. After becoming Area Admin Manger to the Newry Area Office in 1977, he finally settled as District Manager to the Lisburn Dairyfarm District until his retirement in 2010.

Colin joined the NIHE in 1983 as a Housing Officer initially working in Belfast District 5 later moving to Carrickfergus and North East Area Office in Ballymena as Senior Housing Officer. For much of his career Colin has worked in Housing Benefit and moved to the Housing Centre in 1996 where he became the Housing Benefit Policy Manager. Colin took early retirement in 2015 and was elected to the Retirement Association Committee the following year. He was elected Treasurer in 2018 and still holds that role.

Eileen joined the Housing Executive on 1st January 1980 as a clerical officer with the then Newry District 1 office in Newry. She worked most of her time within the Newry office with a couple of stints working in South Region as secretary to the Regional Programme Manager and Personnel Manager. On getting promotion in 2002 as a Level 4, Eileen joined the Land and Property Department in South Area and stayed there for 18 months before returning to the Newry District Office as PA to the District Manager, along with several other duties. Eileen was acting up to Level 5 when she retired in March 2018 after 38 years of service.

Liz started work in NIHE in 1975 as Secretary to the Regional Manager, Eastern Region and took early retirement in 2007. She moved around a few departments in Belfast and finished working with Design Services in the Belfast Area Office, in Great Victoria Street

Alan moved from the Belfast Corporation to the N I Housing Executive on 1st January 1972. He started in housing but soon moved to Finance where he remained until he retired in December 2007. He joined the Retirement Association and was elected treasurer at the AGM in 2008

Anne Mathers

Anne joined the NIHE in 1983 and worked for the organisation for 34 years before taking retirement in October 2017. She worked in the Housing Centre for a few of years before moving to the District Office, District 7, and subsequently S&E Belfast. She remained there until her retirement. Worked for 40 years in Housing Management, Regional Information, Staff Inspection and Efficiency Services until retirement at the end of 2007.

Leonard Sproule

In September 2012 following over 37 years of service Leonard took early retirement from the Housing Executive. He is a graduate of the University of Ulster. During his career Leonard has worked in a number of Housing Executive District Offices and was District Manager of the Carrickfergus and Antrim Offices before moving in 2003 to the Housing Executive Headquarters. From 2006 until his retirement Leonard was Community Services Manager responsible for encouraging and promoting community involvement in local housing issues.

My first job was in the Salaries and Wages Department, Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry. After five years I decided to pursue a career in Public Sector Procurement. I held a number of Public Sector Procurement posts in the NHS, Local Government and the University Sector. In 2002 I began working in the NIHE Corporate Procurement Unit's Supplies and Services Section. I applied for a one year secondment in the NIHE Corporate Services. After this secondment, I returned to my post in NIHE Corporate Procurement Unit. In 2012 I joined NIHE IT Department where I worked in the area of IT Contracts Management with IT Services Managers and Head of IT. I retired from NIHE in March 2020.

Danny joined the NIHE on 1st July 1983 as a Grants Officer in Belfast Area 2. On the 1 st July 1996 he moved to the Belfast Practice Group as Technical Officer for Minor Adaptations for people with disabilities. In January 2000 he was promoted to the post of Project Manager for Major Adaptations for people with disabilities and Group Repairs within the Belfast Area. He retired June 2009.
